Welcome to the website for credit union governance.
ABCUL has developed this Code of Governance for Credit Unions in partnership with credit unions and other stakeholders. This has been an important feature in the effort to develop and grow the sector and provide resources and guidance to credit unions on the strengthening of both their internal structures and their accountability to members and stakeholders. The Code aims also to complement the regulatory framework for credit unions.
Are you a credit union? Download the Code, register to access templates and resources, assess your compliance and upload your details to tell your members you are signed up to the code.

Credit Unions are financial co-operatives owned and controlled by their members and believe that good governance and accountability are central to their values and ethics. They are accountable to members, the local community, the regulator, funders and supporting organisations all of whom want to see a transparent and secure credit union offering affordable financial services and able to develop and grow.
This section gives the background to the Code and what it means to your credit union.
